Just got a Windows 7 machine and trying to install the driver. I have the old 2.85T firmware and can't get it to update. I was wondering if someone could point me to the american version 285S mentioned in the post by jjceo. Same as Cherie I updated the .bat file and tried to ping...nothing. I am hoping the american version will fix my firmware problem and i can install the 64bit driver successfully. Thanks.
Well, I have the correct firmware in my 2300DL, and I download the XP 64bit driver from this site, but then when I try to follow the directions in adding a new printer, local printer, etc but then the "raw 9100" is where I get hung up: it just doesn't allow me to choose any such port in the setup process. what's going wrong? thanks.
Works great! Thanks!
Thank you - thank you! We bought our Magicolor 2300DL from Sam's in the last few years for home use. I have used Vista 64 bit at work for some time and knew that we would probably have problems once we purchased a new laptop with Vista on it. I called Konica Minolta's customer service line - we printed out a test page for the firmware and our's came up as 2.85S. The rep simply told me that the printer will not work with Vista 64 bit.
So I came here and tried the download. The printer is very slow - but I will take slow over not being able to use the printer at all.
FYI for those looking info on this - our's is hooked up locally via USB.
Stuck here. Upgraded the firmware from my old machine, but the 2300d_64b file downloaded and unzipped from KM has no executable in it?? There ARE two application files in there, 1 in the AMD64 file and the other in the I386 file, but neither will do anything when double-clicked. So...how did you all install the 64 bit driver in the first place? New machine has Win 7 64 bit on it.
Finally got my 2300dl working with Win 7HP 64-bit. Managed to scrounge a 25/36 Centronics Cable from an old employer. Installed the KM XP 64bit driver on my new machine. Installed the 2.85s printer firmware upgrade using my old XP machine.
Got the slowwwww... printing problem.
Ratcheting down UAC solved it, but was a little uncomfortable keeping it there.
Found the monitoring dll, which on my machine was MLUU_MON.dll, not MLMON_B.dll. Deleted it from Win 7 safe mode. So far everythings golden, test printed several files from Word, Excel and Foxit Reader while UAC was at default setting. No problems. WOO HOO!
Actually wouldn't of minded a new printer, but really don't wanna shell out the bucks at the moment.
Does anyone have any idea is this will work on a 2300W???
The 2300Dl is working great with win7 64 bit via usb now. i added a local printer with the port USB001.
thanks for your help

running it in "local printer" (even thought it is networked) was the cure. Thanks a million (sheets of wasted paper)! HPe9107C with Linksys N router with printer networked.
OK, solved. Had to upgrade the firmware in the printer to 2.8s. Installed like a champ after that.
Just bought an HP laptop with Windows 7. I have a Magicolor 2300dl...like everyone else here. I've talked to Minolta. They gave me a direct link to this driver. Unzipped but no MLUU_DRV.inf. Same file as offered at this site. I see it in the menu of "file to be unzipped" but can't find it once I do. MLUU_DRV is a text file and Windows 7 doesn't like it.
So if I don't have a parallel printer port / cable how the hell do I update the firmware on the magicolor 2300 dl?
i did use win 7 64 and xp virtuell mode and get it to work that way
Oh, I'm using Vista 64 Ultimate SP1, 2300DL firmware 2.86S, XP 64 bit driver, created port to IP generic newtwork card, standard tcp/ip, port 9100 RAW, UAC disabled.
Good luck!
For slow printing, I disabled my UAC, but every time I rebooted, I could never print and had to reload the XP 64 driver. The Minolta folks told me to go the Printers folder, right click the printer, and chose Use Printer Online. Then it printed immediately. Also on another forum, they say it's caused by a monitoring dll, MLMON_B.dll. If deleted from Windows\System32 directory, they claim its stops the problem. For me, i'll just select Use Printer online. Here's link to the forum comments: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1542232
On Vista X64, SP2
I'm way out of my league I think. I have a brand new Dell Laptop - Vista Home Premium - 64 bit - with a 2300 DL firmware 02.28S. I've installed the XP driver as suggested, finally got that installed, yet still get Error - printing. Nothing has printed. Tried to install the updated 2.86 firmware as suggested here. Updated the .bat file with the correct IP address from printer's config page, tried the ping, nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance...
Worked like a charm.
The firmware update did it.
Running Windows Vista 64 Ultimate SP1
Second OS: Windows Vista 32 Ultimate SP1
@jjceo: Thanks for the info. I have the same older 2.28T firmare (that supposedly can't be upgraded). Where do I find the "American Firmware" version? I've Googled the hell out of it but can't seem to find it. TIA
I have a 2300 DL with firmware version 02.28T and it failed to allow me to reburn the firmware 4 times. I turned off the printer and tried again using the American Firmware version 285S and it worked finally. I installed the drivers and it worked great on Vista 64. I have the User account control turned off like I have on my 32 bit machines and it works great. THe User account control has bad effects on the Minolta printers for some reason.
Here is a guide I wrote on installing this printer as a netowrk printer on Vista Ultimate x64 SP1.
http://www.lndsoft.co.uk/Support/Documentation/Misc/KonicaMinolta2300DL.php
Updated the firmware, set the port as raw 9100 nothing special nothing checked / unchecked, used the driver, printer was added sucessfully and the test page printed great!!! TY TY TY.
Not all printers have upgradable firmwares. My firmware version is 02.28T and according to tech support is not upgradable. I guess I am out of luck.
It works great. They key is to update the firmware on the printer. Until I did that, I kept getting the Print Errors. Won't buy another Minolta however, same reason as others below, lack of driver support.
It works! The driver downloaded is in a zip file. Unzip before using it.
BTW, I DL'd both files from http://www.konicaminolta.eu/business-solutions/support/laser... I didn't find any instructions. When I plug printer into USB (don't have a Par. port on laptop) I browse to folders I DL'd, but it still doesn't find driver. I have Vista 64 bit.
How do you change the firmware?
I have had my new computer for a month and spent a lot of time trying to get my 2300dl to work with vitsa. Finally I found this place and changed the firmware and YES it works like a charm. Thank you to GUEST who provided the link!
thanks for all the information; look like i'm in the same boat as most of you. i need more help, please...
do i need to update my firmware?
do i need to turn off UAC? when?
when downloading drivers for 64bitdrivers.com, where and how do i save them? i save to desktop but when i got to browse it wasn't reconized as a .inf file???
also after i created new port: standard tcp/ip, it then ask hostname or ip, then port ( i typed in my ip address and put 9100 in as the port... what is RAW ???)
next screen i put generic network card, then to have disk and browse to driver...
not sure if i'm doing any of this correctly, can anyone please help?
Thanks a million
ps i spoke with minolta and i don't believe they are ever going to make available drivers for vistax64, they stated this model is 4 generation old, i tried explaining to them even though it is old it is still in excellant working condition and should be for the price!
thanks again for any help anyone can provide..
This worked like a Charm. Thanks TON!!!
Ih and I am using this solution on a WIndows 7 Beta machine 64bit install so it is good going forward. Just make sure you do teh Firmware update. My printer is also on a network and I mapped its location in Win7 via its address manually. That is easy to do though.
Thanks again!!!

As for my previous comment, there was indeed such a file, at the first try I just couldn't select it. I got the driver installed, now I'm just hoping I'll get it to work. (I have had problems with this printer in the past on XP professional)
I just bought a new system with vista home premium 64bit, I'm trying to follow the directions of installing this driver, but when I get to the brows to the downloaded driver part, vista wants a *.inf file and there are no such files in the downloaded folder.
This thing works, the only stipulation is that you have to upgrade your firmware. After many tribulation, I was able to find the firmware on Minolta's website. just go to the following link: http://www.konicaminolta.eu/business-solutions/support/laser... and then click on downloads. Once you get there, select your printer, and firmware in document type/subcategory. There you should find 2.86 version controller. Just follow the instructions to install the firmware and then install this driver. This is well worth your time.
Also my printer does inform me it is out of cyan ink.
I used my printers IP when installing driver and all I get is... printing then error printing in print cue that is located in vista.
I'm having two problems with the 2300DL driver. How do you create a 9100 raw port? When I was going through the install the install program couldn't find a .inf file in the download. I a novice.
For anybody using this driver with Vista x64 (I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 SP1) and having difficulty, update the printer's firmware.
I was having great difficulty in printing (i.e. it wouldn't print) until I installed this firmware...

Installed and printed test page okay on Vista Home Premium SP1 64 bit
...for those it did work...step by step instructions for a computer lay person...please...thanks
tRIED THE TO CONNECT MY 2300DL USING THE SUGGESTION, BUT ALAS....NO LUCK...WHAT CONNECTION DID YOU USE TO THE PRINTER...USB? OR ANOTHER...
Works OK - just as it says, select LOCAL printer
Didn't work. I guess buying a Minolta was a mistake afterall.
No go for me. Vista SP1 64 bit
I get the error printing test page as shown above in other posts.
Followed Kent's instructions and it works great on my 64-bit Vista.
Further to my post below, I turned off UAC and it prints instantly. Next question, is there a workaround so I don't have to turn off UAC?
I figured it out: User Account Control (UAC) intereferes with the printing, slowing down Vista sending the job to the printer. When you first install the printer, there's no problem, but after restarting the computer, UAC slows down printing.
It works fast right after I install the printer (following directions below), but then once the computer has been reset, Vista is reallly slow sending the print job to the printer.

Works great. Select Local Printer not network. Creat port to IP generic network card, RAW. Selct Have Disk and browse to driver.
Didn't work SP2 Vista X64
No luck here. Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate, SP1.
I will never purchase another Konica-Minolta product.
Nope, didn't work for me...Vista 64 Ultimate. Too bad...it's a great little printer to go to waste. Will never buy Minolta again. Sticking with HP. Better Driver support.
It doesn't work for me.
Vista Bussiness 64bit, sp1
:(
Thank you so much for posting this info. Followed the instructions posted by Kent_Diego and it worked a treat!
didn't work for me. Vista Ultimate 64 bit + SP1. I get Error-Printing message. I tried the 64 bit xp drivers from Minolta web page with the same results.
And yes, this was a network printer, I got the IP address right, port = 9100, RAW, etc. etc.
Yes it worked on vista 64 ultimate sp1. Following Kent_Diego's instructions:
1. Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Printer>Add Printer
2. Select Local Printer not Network Printer!
3. Create new port Standard TCP/IP port, port 9100 RAW.
4. Select "Have Disk" and browse to driver downloaded from
64bitdrivers.com
Nope don't work, vista 64 bit ultimate sp1.
Works great. Select Local Printer not network. Creat port to IP generic network card, RAW. Selct Have Disk and browse to driver.
Will this work for vista 64bit? Is there a driver for vista 64bit?
It worked after downloading and then updating it. But it is very slow. takes over 3 minutes to print after printer is warmed up and ready to go
Didn't work for me.
Didn't driver didn't recognize.
